STEP 1 : WASH
Wool clothing (merino, alpaca, mohair) does not need to be washed every time after wearing. We recommend airing them for a few hours if they have unpleasant odors.
FOR STAINS
Preferably hand wash in cold or lukewarm water (20° max) to maintain your knitwear.
Use a small amount of wool detergent - be careful, too much or the wrong detergent can cause the material to felt.
Wash your knitwear gently, do not soak it for more than a few minutes. Do not wring it out when rinsing.
Machine washing is possible if the label says so, but stick to the instructions on it. We recommend that you check if your washing machine has a special wool wash cycle, with a low-speed spin cycle (400 rpm).
Be careful not to overfill the machine, which will prevent creases and damage to the material.
Do not use fabric softener with wool, as this can cause it to molt and lose its softness.
STEP 2 : DRY
Never wring out wool or put it in the dryer.
Gently roll it in a towel so that the excess water is absorbed without wringing it out.
We recommend drying it flat, on a towel and on a flat surface (table, bed ...).
Do not forget to fold back the sleeves so they do not get wider.
Do not pull wool, even gently, and remember that the shape it has before drying will remain that way when dry.
STEP 3 : IRONING
Ironing is not necessary if it has been washed and dried properly.
If you still want to iron wool clothes, pay attention to the following necessary tips:
- Steam iron carefully inside out
- Do not press wool
- Use a pressing cloth
STEP 4 : MAINTENANCE
We recommend that you do not fold and hang wool clothes so that they keep their shape.
It is normal that over time, due to friction, balls will appear on it. If you don't want that, you can use (very carefully) a razor blade or a comb.
Moths love wool, we recommend putting a few balls of cedar in your closet to prevent them from getting into your closet. They like dark places without movement,so don't leave your wool clothing hanging in the closet for a few years, preferably hang it in dry and well ventilated places and preferably air it before hanging it in the closet again.
